Schrot & Korn is one of the true pioneers of the sustainability movement in Germany. Long before sustainability became a marketing buzzword, the magazine was already helping shape public conversations around conscious consumption, ecological responsibility and alternative economic models.

The connection between ekn and Schrot & Korn goes back many years. Long before this collaboration came to life, our paths crossed through sustainability conferences, events and projects initiated by Noel.

What connects ekn and Schrot & Korn is a similar understanding of how sustainability can be approached today: rooted in quality, longevity and products that naturally become part of everyday life.

Produced on demand. The Osier x Schrot & Korn is available exclusively as a pre-order.

Rather than producing based on forecasts, we manufacture only the quantities that are actually ordered. This allows us to avoid overproduction and use materials and resources as responsibly as possible.

Once the pre-order phase has ended, each pair will be handcrafted in Portugal. Estimated delivery: November 2026.

The Osier x Schrot & Korn is based on one of the most timeless footwear designs ever created: the Chelsea boot.

Originally developed in Victorian England and later adopted by artists, musicians and creative subcultures, the Chelsea boot is one of the few shoe styles that has remained relevant across generations without needing to change.

This is exactly the quality we wanted to preserve.

Subtle details reference both Schrot & Korn and ekn without overpowering the character of the boot. The result is a shoe that naturally fits into different wardrobes, lifestyles and occasions.

All ekn footwear is produced in a family-run factory in northern Portugal. The entire value chain is located within a small geographic radius, allowing for short transport routes, close collaboration and direct oversight of quality and production processes. For us, sustainability also means creating products that do not need to be replaced after a single season.

For the Osier, we use premium chrome-free leather sourced from a specialised Portuguese tannery that has been producing high-quality leather without the use of heavy metals for decades. Organic residual materials generated during the tanning process are further processed into agricultural fertiliser and returned to farming. A small but meaningful contribution to a more responsible use of resources.

The leather lining, flexible construction and carefully selected materials provide lasting comfort and a pleasant foot climate throughout the day.

Over time, the leather develops its own unique patina and gains character. Every pair tells its own story. The Osier is intentionally timeless, built for durability and designed to be worn for many years.
